OFFSTAGE: Taylor Swift Wraps Rap Video in Nashville
June 15 2012

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

This is giving me a little Tim McGraw and Nelly "Over and Over" déjà vu. This being the fact that Taylor Swift and rapper B.o.B. were in Nashville Thursday (June 14) shooting a music video for their "Both of Us" single. And oddly enough, the photos from the set look more country than they do hip-hop: a field of wildflowers, old Adirondack chairs and a weathered barn. B.o.B. is certainly no stranger to a good collaboration, but usually his songs feature other like-minded artists like Hayley Williams (Paramore), Eminem, Bruno Mars, Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) and Lil Wayne. But sure enough, he tweeted a picture saying, "On the set of the #BothOfUs music video in Nashville with @taylorswift13. Video premieres end of June!" According to MTV.com, the story behind the video and song is that Swift reached out to the rapper a while ago because she's been wanting to do an off-the-wall collaboration like this for years. Perhaps it was the "Thug Story" video she did with T-Pain for the 2009 CMT Music Awards that piqued her curiosity.
