OFFSTAGE: Danica Patrick Pulls Into Miranda Lambert Video
June 29 2012 | Alison Bonaguro

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Of course, Danica Patrick's in Miranda Lambert's upcoming video. Because it's for "Fastest Girl in Town." So the NASCAR star makes a cameo appearance. The song, according to Lambert, has a Kentucky raw-girl spin on it. "And it's got my bullets flyin' around, and there's crime to it," she says. "It kind of makes being the fastest girl in town not a skanky thing, but a glamorous thing, and that's what I like about it." The release date for the video hasn't been announced, but both Patrick and Lambert were tweeting Wednesday (June 27) from the video set, saying things like, "Long video shoot. Up since 5 am! But ... it's gonna be sooooo worth it! Probably my favorite one ever! And I made a new friend" (Lambert) and, "On a plane already, Heading to a fun music video shoot today! I do love the roads at 4am! Empty" (Patrick). And when this photo was tweeted, it was pretty obvious who the guest star was.

This isn't Patrick's first video that has her playing herself. She was in rapper Jay-Z's "Show Me What You Got" back in 2006. She sure makes a good fit for this Lambert song about how there ain't no use in trying to slow her down because you're running with the fastest girl in town. I remember an interview Patrick did years ago when she said, "There's nothing I can't do in a race car because I'm a girl." With an attitude like that, I'll bet she and Lambert became fast friends.
